Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam
A Brief History
Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam is the women's wing of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church and one of its largest spiritual organizations, bringing together women from all parishes across the Church. The organization functions in all 30 dioceses of the Church and has an active presence in parishes throughout India and abroad.
Founded in 1928 with the objective of promoting the spiritual growth and empowerment of women, the organization was named "Marth Mariam Samajam" in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whom its founders accepted as their interceding saint. The Samajam was established under the patronage of the Late Very Rev. M. C. Kuriakose Ramban and the leadership of K. M. Annamma and her dedicated co-workers.
