Akhila Malankara Orthodox Shusrushaka Sangham (AMOSS)
Akhila Malankara Orthodox Shusrushaka Sangham (AMOSS) is an organization of altar servers in the Malankara Orthodox Church. It works to strengthen the spiritual life, discipline, and liturgical training of altar boys and church attendants throughout the church.
Objectives
- To provide proper instruction and training to altar boys in all parishes of the Malankara Orthodox Church, ensuring uniformity and systematic worship throughout the Church.
- To mould dedicated individuals who possess God's grace, spiritual commitment, sacramental life, and practical experience to serve faithfully in the sacramental ministries of the Holy Church.
- To train altar servers to practice the traditions and liturgical services of the Holy Church without alteration, preserving their meaning, value, and significance, and preparing them to become members of the Church’s serving community.
The training of altar boys is conducted under the supervision of SRUTI at the Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam.
Activities
- Periodical training programmes at diocesan and zonal levels.
- Annual conferences aimed at the upliftment and encouragement of youngsters serving as altar boys.
- Active AMOSS units functioning in almost all parishes of the Malankara Orthodox Church.
